Oct 18, 2024

A student suffered nonlife-threatening injuries after a driver struck her Thursday morning, authorities said.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, the teenager was hit when a vehicle failed to stop for a school bus that had its stop signs deployed and blinking lights.

The time and location of the crash were not immediately disclosed.

Michelle Batten, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said sheriff's deputies were still investigating around 1 p.m. to determine if charges would be filed.
